Novato Community Hospital

2023 Campaign

Ensuring consistently exceptional, patient-centered care for the community

Twenty years ago Novato Community Hospital (NCH) was built thanks in large part to generous philanthropic support from the community. NCH has since grown to become the hospital of choice for families in Marin County who seek exceptional, patient-centered care close to home. After two decades and serving hundreds of thousands of patients, the campus is benefitting from some internal and exterior upgrades as well as modernizing the patient experience.

Building for the Future of Care at Novato Community Hospital

Our Campaign priorities for 2023 will ensure that Novato Community Hospital has the resources needed to continue providing patients with world-class care now and well into the future. Philanthropic support for the campaign will provide funding for innovative programs and advanced medical technologies to improve patient care and outcomes.

Fundraising priorities include:

  • Health Partnership Fund (Emergency Pediatric Care)
    • Throughout 2022, children made up 20% - 40% of all patients cared for in Novato Community Hospitals Emergency Department.
This fund amplifies emergency care to school aged children in the community, providing training for emergency care teams to train and prepare for a broad range of life saving scenarios on the most advanced equipment thanks to community support.
  • Breast Health Center
    • This fund ensures that Novato Community Hospital has the most advanced technology to ensure the best possible outcomes. Mammography is the foundation of breast cancer screening, but we offer many additional imaging technologies to assess breast health including 3D Mammography, Breast MRI, Breast Ultrasound and Positron Emission Mammography to suit individual patient needs. Community gifts also provide nurse navigation and care for all patients regardless of their ability to pay.

  • Nursing Education
    • In the midst of a nationwide nursing shortage, the NCH Nursing Education fund is intended to help us retain more bedside staff, increase professional growth and decrease staff burnout by providing support to staff nurses to update and/ or advance their skillset. More nursing education will also lead to better patient outcomes, increased professionalism within the nursing staff and an increase in job satisfaction.

  • Kalmanovitz Child Development Center - Marin
    • Donor support is critical to keeping the comprehensive assessment and treatment programs for children with developmental differences in Marin County. Each year generous donors provide money for general scholarships to improve access for underserved families to receive assessment and therapy services through this comprehensive child development center.
  • Staff Engagement
    • Supporting our patient care teams, including staff engagement opportunities to build morale across hospital staff, provide rejuvenating experiences such as 10 minute arm chair massages for nurses and their teams, upgrade staff areas and provide occasional meals to a shift of staff teams as a way to express gratitude for their tireless dedication to our patients and their families.

  • Area of Greatest Need

Fundraising Campaign and Donor Recognition

Significant contributors to the fundraising campaign will have the opportunity to name areas of Novato Community Hospital in honor of their family, a loved one, or a favorite physician (e.g., The Smith Family ICU Room). Donors of $25,000 or more may also be recognized through signage in the hospital and in publications.

Donations to NCH are Tax Deductible.
